AHNA CNE Programs

AHNA offers a wide range of continuing nursing education (CNE) opportunities for nurses, including online learning, self-paced home study courses and live events covering a wide range of topics in the spectrum of the Holistic Nursing. Integrative Healing Arts Program in Holistic Nursing

The Integrative Healing Arts Program in Holistic Nursing (IHAP) is an 72 hour continuing nursing education (CNE) program designed to prepare nurses for pivotal roles in a new paradigm of healthcare, grounded in a foundation of holism.

This unique 3-session program prepares nurses to take the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation (AHNCC) certification exam in Holistic Nursing. Graduates will be able to incorporate new knowledge and skills into their nursing practice; embody therapeutic presence, and implement person-centered care. Click here for more info.

AHNA Endorsed Programs

AHNA offers a special recognition service to approved CNE programs that offer 30 or more contact hours to nurses, include two or more modules, and offer content based on a well-developed body of knowledge congruent with the AHNA mission and vision and the Holistic Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.

AHNA Program Endorsement recognizes existing CNE programs (minimum 12 months) that have met the criteria established by AHNA’s Program Recognition Committee, complete an intense reflective self-study and a rigorous application and peer review process before recommendation for final approval by the AHNA Board of Directors.

Approval to Award Contact Hours

The AHNA Education Approval Unit reviews nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) individual educational activity applications from individuals or organizations who would like to offer contact hours that meet the ANCC 2015 criteria for continuing nursing education (CNE), the 2020 ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education and are grounded in the philosophy of holism. AHNA approved programs are an additional resource for nurses to earn contact hours. All current approved activities are listed in the AHNA Approved CNE Program Directory. The Evaluations and Certificates for all AHNA CNE Programs are accessible online for your convenience. You can access the evaluations and certificates of completion for almost all AHNA CNE programs including all AHNA live events, Beginnings and JHN articles!
